I recently bought a new home and find that the floor plan and layout will not work well/easily with my old router and UTP cables to connect our five PC's. Drilling holes and hiding the wires is getting old and I was thinking wireless might be a viable alternative. Problem is this is something I have no experience with and was hoping someone here in the Spawnpoint community could provide recommendations and advice on security issues, and in particular on how well wireless works with gaming. Connection to the Internet is of course the goal, but most important to me is the speed and connection stability for gaming.
What's the best wireless option for gaming, and what's the best equipment to buy when gaming is the most important use of the home PC? Costs will of course vary, but that's not an issue - I'm looking for the most stable and the fastest connection available and would greatly appreciate any suggestions and recommendations you may have. I've read a number of articles and there is enough general/technical information out there, but what I'd like to hear is feedback from actual gamers on their experience with home wireless.
